Churning out the rooms

The building has become a production line for hotel guest rooms now that we are in the swing of fitting doors, bathrooms, joinery, and decorating and adding the light fittings, room locks, room by room throughout the building.  In fact we will soon be fitting carpets in the first rooms, and after that the furniture and furnishings will be arriving to be unpacked so we are not far away from the first rooms being finished ready for the fist guests to arrive.

Downstairs, the glazed screen which will be the hotel entrance is taking shape, work in the conference and banqueting suite is progressing, and in the large kitchens the cooking equipment has started to be installed over the new floor finishes.

Outside, work to finish the roof edges is nearing completion, and the coating to finish the main building elevations is now proceeding apace – thank goodness for a few days of late summer without any rain!  As you can see, behind the scaffolding the building is changing colour!

On the south elevations the blockwork for the ‘fins’ which add features and shadows between the windows are nearly completed, all waiting for the scaffolding to be removed from around the roof.

It’s a busy and happy building site!
